Regular aluminium pigments are incompatible with water due to aluminium's high reactivity. To use aluminium pigment flakes in waterborne systems, they undergo organic or inorganic passivation. This process protects the aluminium flakes from water, acids, and alkalis, ensuring their stability and performance.

AQUEPAS

Aluminium is a active amphoteric metal which is easy to react with water, acid and alkali. Therefore special surface treatment is required when used in water-borne systems. AQUEPAS series are suitable for various waterborne system including general industrial paints, waterborne inks, etc. Hazardous content like heavy metals, nonylphenols, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, plasticizers and benzene series are under strict control.
